Does your company require an energy management system? For many, things are now getting serious. From mid-July, companies will be required to implement a certified system in accordance with ISO 50001 or EMAS. Do you exceed the limit of 7.5 GWh per year? Then urgent action is required.
Regardless of whether they are SMEs or non-SMEs, all companies with a total annual energy consumption of more than 7.5 GWh are obliged to set up and operate an energy management system (EMS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 or an environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with EMAS.
By 18 July 2025 , companies that have achieved the status of a company in accordance with § 8 para. 1 EnEfG (Energy Efficiency Act) by the end of 17 November 2023 must have set up an EMS or EMS.
